Bear Lake Village Master Plan

The Village of Bear Lake adopted its Lakes to Land Community Master Plan on July 16, 2014.

The unique, collaborative format of the Lakes to Land Regional Initiative is reflected in the presentation of the plan, which consists of five “tabs,” or chapters. The first three are written on a regional scale and cover the planning process, context, and community engagement. The fourth tab is entirely focused on the Village of Bear Lake, covering community-specific existing conditions, goals, and a land use plan. The fifth tab discusses collaborative efforts which have grown out of the Lakes to Land initiative and the future of the collaboration, again on a regional scale.

Bear Lake Village Master Plan — 1 Comment

  1. I’m interested in better sidewalks around the school. I’ve seen many kids walking in the road near the school and with cars parked all around it just seems unsafe. A walking trail or bike trail. I’d like to see a comprehensive list of the income that comes in from Hopkins park over the Summer. A beautiful fire pit in view of our new clock would be nice and would bring people of the Village together more I think. I’d love to have a “greener” town using solar panels for our deck lighting, museum, and library. I’d like to see events posted before they happen on the Bear Lake website. Awareness attempts of programs like Lakes to Land and volunteer opportunities are vague and unadvertised. I’d like to see a few buildings in the Village get cleaned up or torn down, especially the Variety Store. Hopefully they won’t all open and block the sidewalks again this year. Maybe only the flower shop should stay open and the rest can stop making the town look like trash all summer. I’d like to see a working water fountain and a garbage can in the deck area. I know there are bigger issues but if there is any grant money that can be applied for to help make our town desirable for businesses to come in, that would be ideal. Thank you
